The Belk College Kickoff Tailgate Concert will serve as a homecoming for Rice, an Asheville, N.C. native and former linebacker at North Carolina. Rice, a singer, songwriter, and television personality, has become one of country music’s most exciting stars since arriving in Nashville, building a loyal fan base across the country through his energetic live shows and gaining the attention of music critics and industry professionals alike with his edgy, eclectic sound. The Tar Heel State native has inked a new label deal with Broken Bow Records and completed his sophomore album, Lambs & Lions which hit stores November 17, 2017. Rice also produced a pair of Top 5 hits, the Platinum-certified “Ready Set Roll” and “Gonna Wanna Tonight.”

Rising stars Filmore and Gyth Rigdon will also perform. Filmore made his national television debut on NBC’s Today Show earlier this week. He has also been featured by Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Sounds Like Nashville SiriusXM ‘The Highway’, Apple Music, and Spotify. Gyth Rigdon, who has been referred to as “the next Garth Brooks” by Blake Shelton looks to dominate the stage as well. The Louisiana native is a finalist on NBC’s The Voice and uses a mix of Country, southern rock, and soul to create his sound.
